Unleash the power of transformative mentorship to create a new generation of leaders that reach their own potential and make an impact in the world.
All successful leaders stand on the shoulders of their mentor giants—people who saw something in them they may not have seen in themselves and helped them find and achieve their purpose in life. Mentors and their mentees help each other make meaningful impact in their own lives in the organizations in which they are part of and can make a major impact in their communities and beyond.
Who Believed in You shares the mentorship stories of some of our greatest leaders and influencers starting with the journeys of David McCormick and Dina Powell McCormick, and including leaders and luminaries like Stephen A. Schwarzman, Tory Burch, Alex Gorsky, David Chang, and many others. It unpacks the four critical elements of transformative mentorship—mutual trust, shared values, meaningful commitment, and the importance of instilling confidence—and offers guideposts and powerful illustrations from actual mentorship journeys that both show the way and inspire.
David and Dina share how transformative mentoring can be the unifying force in our country that invests in countless lives and helps build a new generation of values-based leaders and communities based on the ethos that “to whom much is given, much is expected.” Dina draws on her experience immigrating to America from Cairo, Egypt as a young girl, not speaking English, and how her mentors helped her realize her potential, eventually serving at the highest levels of the United States Government, most recently as Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald J. Trump, as well as the highest levels of business and finance. David also shares how mentors in his life inspired him to keep going and reach higher to eventually become a United States Senator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
