What does it mean for a religion to be "true"? Have you ever found yourself in a situation where this question became a matter of life or death, or at least, of sanity or madness? I have. A combination of personal history, self-examination, and dialogue with the thoughts, writings and experiences of others, this book is an account of how, in part during a crisis that erupted out of a precipitous decision to enter Islam in 1995, and in part through the lessons learned over the years that followed, I discovered, as a Muslim, how to re-own the Christian faith the seeds of which were planted in my youth. Beyond this, it tells the story of how, out of this re-owning of my Christian faith, I came to embrace a broader, ecumenical spirituality in which I continue to progress toward recognition of, and reconciliation with, my most genuine self.
