Transformational Discipleship DVD

Transformational Discipleship DVD introduces church staff members, church leadership teams, and small groups to the content found in the B&H book "Transformational Discipleship." The DVD supplements this book and provides a discussion guide for participants. It consists of four video sessions, each approximately 30 minutes long. Get a better understanding of Transformational Discipleship and start a conversation with your team about implementing its principles in your church or small group.

Session one features author Eric Geiger providing an overview of the project that includes the purpose of the book, discoveries from research, and insights from experts in the area of discipleship. Sessions two through four feature conversations with authors Michael Kelley and Philip Nation discussing "the transformational sweet spot" — the intersection of truth given by healthy leaders to someone in a vulnerable position. In the past, discipleship focused on knowledge or information and behavioral modification. Christ-centered discipleship results in true spiritual transformation. Lifeway Research discovered that certain factors are at work in the lives of believers who are progressing in spiritual maturity.

Authors:

• Eric Geiger is vice president of Lifeway’s Church Resources Division. Previously, he served as the executive pastor of Christ Fellowship Miami. He is also a teaching pastor, a frequent speaker and consultant on church mission and strategy, and co-author of "Simple Church."
• Michael Kelley is a speaker, author, and director of discipleship at Lifeway. His books include "Holy Vocabulary," "The Tough Sayings of Jesus," "Wednesdays Were Pretty Normal: A Boy, Cancer, and God," and "Faith Limps: Trusting a Good God in a Broken World."
• Philip Nation has served as a pastor, minister of education, and church planter. He is currently director of ministry development for Lifeway Research. He is also a speaker and writer, recently coauthoring "Compelled by Love" and its accompanying video study.
