Topz Diaries Danny's Daring Days

Once again, Alexa Tewkesbury hits the balance between humour and insightful truth as she brings another well loved Topz character to life.

Danny, the sporty one, is selected for the Area Junior Football Squad and failing to realise that his skills are Godgiven, the praise goes to his head much to the annoyance of Benny in particular. He is brought back to earth with a bump when his team lose an important match because he misses a goal. Dannys confidence in his abilities disappears; angry with God, he decides to give up sport completely. However, the unexpected friendship of a new neighbour, Josh (a boy with cerebral palsy who loves sport) teaches Danny important lessons of faith: to believe that God will always be with him and that nothing can separate him from God's love.

This brilliantly-written and amusing story challenges us to thank God for the skills and abilities He gives us and to use them humbly trusting in His love and faithfulness, whatever our circumstances. A great read for all children whether previously Topz fans or not.
