The mission of the Church is as critical to the structures of society today as it was in the book of Acts. A. B. Simpson's vision was to be released from a stereotyped Church that had no concern for a lost world to a Church impassioned by God's love for the world. The book of Acts presents a portrait of such a Church.
The New Testament Church was a Spirit-filled Church and a soul-winning Church through which the gospel was spread with incredible speed to every part of the civilized world.
The definition and mission of the Church then and now is simple, says Simpson: Spirit-filled people, witnessing ther gospel of Christ every day and everywhere, until the whole world is reached.
