We live at a time when our outer world dominates and diminishes our inner world to a destructive degree. This is because the outer, material world demands so much of our time, energy and resources that our inner world has to make do with what is left over. We neglect our potential to be fully human. To remedy this situation we need to pay more attention to the relationships that make up our inner world, rather than focusing so much on the outer world of what we have and what we do. It is only within the relationships basic to our inner world, that we find the acceptance and the affirmation or "the care that makes and sustains us". (Heidegger). This book seeks to provide a practical way to strike a better balance between our outer and inner worlds by establishing our relationships as the center of our concern. "Offers a sense of being at home with oneself that must be part of any healthy religious experience."--The Irish Catholic.
