When the Phobos project she is working on in Mars is shut down, Margaret Bain returns to Earth with her parents. However, mankind's birthplace is impoverished, reduced to trading in human slaves. Margaret and her family are the only ones who can save the day following the discovery of a threat to Earth and humankind.
