Hannah Whitall Smith was a Pennsylvanian Quaker who spurned the gloominess of much of the Christian spirituality of her era. Her God was a loving father who accompanied us on the grand adventure of our lives. Her writing is joyful, even though her life was often hard. In her many addresses to Quaker meetings, she affirmed that the scriptures were "fairly radiant with Good News." Her book radiates Good News as well, and has proven so inspirational that it has sold over two million copies since its first publication in 1870. In print continuously ever since, the Apocryphile Press is proud to bring this new, compact and affordable edition.
