CIA officer Nathan Frost is taking a little R&R at a Florida Keys resort when a call girl and a fellow guest begin displaying the symptoms of a deadly illness. Frost wants nothing to do with fighting an invisible enemy--a germ known as the Boomslang virus. Nevertheless, he becomes involved tracking the both the origins and the transmission of the virus, from Florida to New York, from Vermont to Russia. The Boomslang virus afflicts friends and foes alike, and Frost must race against time to save those closest to him.
As Frost ventures afield with fellow officers Diana Calabrese and Kerwin Chan, a rogues' gallery of enemies await. The Colombian drug cartel, human traffickers, and clandestine entities in the Russian government all play a role in attempting to turn an unwitting young woman into a biological weapon.
