Dante was a late 13th century Italian poet from Florence. Divina Commedia is considered the greatest literary work composed in the Italian language and a masterpiece of world literature. Dante has been called the "Father of Italian Language." Convito, "The Banquet" is a collection of Dante's longest poems with an unfinished allegorical commentar. This 1887 translation was produced by Elizabeth Price Sayer with an introduction by Henry Morely LL.D., Professor Of English Literature At University College, London.
