Our young women are growing up today in a "me" society. Many are being raised in homes where God is seldom mentioned and the idea of living out biblical concepts is almost non-existent. The idea of a traditional family is almost past history, but something that is deeply desired by many young people. I had a big push by the Holy Spirit to start a class for this very thing. After a while, some of the young ladies of our church were asking me to "write down some of the lessons I had learned." The Apostle Paul wrote to Titus. In chapter 2:3-5 Paul is telling Titus to teach women, especially the older women, women like me, to do certain things. "the older women be teachers of good things, that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed." My husband, Jerry, and I have been married over 60 years, raised five children, have 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I really have had many experiences. As an Elementary Teacher for over 30 years, I have been privileged to get acquainted with many forms of "family" and shared in their joys and sorrows. My prayer everyday as I drove to school was, "Lord let your love for me and my love for you, make a difference in the lives I come in contact with." It is still my prayer today.
