The textbook offers a comprehensive overview of the general teachings of criminal law. Its structure is twofold. The basic structures, which are essential for new students in regards to gaining a basic understanding, are firstly explained in detail and illustrated using numerous case studies. This is followed by selected problem areas for examination candidates; the main theories held by science and practice are illustrated using case studies, and the practice-relevant problems are clarified by means of a revision course. The overviews (structure and examination schemas; problem areas) and definitions placed at the end have the same purpose.
