Book 1The first few days of the winter effect begin to occur as Daniel rubs his hands together upon entering the lobby. He quickly makes his way to the associates 'entrance with a new driven passion. Yesterday's incident had been personal but not in the wrong way. He liked the energy she had given because that's what it would take to become a badass lawyer. Upon seeing her, he quickly walks up to the woman.
"I need your full focus. I don't care what you are doing or how you're doing it. You're my associate, and you'll be working with me. I don't care if you have other crap pending; you will do my work first." Drained and suffering from a deficiency of coffee, the woman exhibits signs of exhaustion.
The same energy from yesterday had disappeared as Daniel had to play his side of things. "I don't care how far you've progressed or how much your daddy paid to get you here. You'll have to prove your worth to me because I'll have you fired if you don't. Your shoe kissing commences now." As Daniel Reed shows what it means to be an associate, the energy shift begins to change.
BOOK 2Panting and out of breath, Leah shuts the door behind her as she holds herself accountable. The flight of stairs had been hell, but she needed to get away from the feelings that she had. She couldn't believe that she had allowed him to help for a second time.
It had blown her mind the fact that she was in the situation in the first place. Recalling the ride, she remembers the smell of his cologne and cigars as his car was left spick and span. A driver was seated in the front as the two laughed and joked around about the recent games. Leah was shocked to see this side of him, for all she had ever heard was how awful and ruthless the man was.
BOOK 3Her fists clenched into a tight grip and her face turning hot, Leah storms throughout the office as everyone looks her way. She stomps her direction towards the cubicle that belongs to her-sitting down on the chair as it swings back into the tiny space that the cubicle offers. She takes a deep breath as she initiates a calming process.
Heated up with the need to punch something or someone, she falls onto her desk as she rests on her arms. The emotions build up into something more. It made zero sense as to the way she reacted. Usually, she was calm and collected and offered logical answers, but she had just threatened someone this time. All she could hope was not to have this bite her back when the situation turned a little south.
BOOK 4Awakening from the exhaustion of the intense emotions, Leah finds herself lying on his bare chest. Her hand caresses him as his head rests on a leather pillow. None of them speak a word as silence remains the answer to their actions.
None of them could understand what had just happened, yet neither of them chose to talk about it. Before the moment gets too real, Leah finds herself standing as she rushes to put on her dress.
BOOK 5Holding her breath as she thinks that this is just a dream of some sort, she closes her eyes and never let's go. The warmth that surrounds her hands as she merely feels him hold on to her ever so tightly. Breathing heavily as they align together; her face lays on his shoulders, allowing her support to feel protected and safe.
BOOK 6"Your honor; I think it is safe to introduce the fact that Violet Simpson is not to be seen as a woman who had an affair.
I think she is more than that. I believe that she is a human who has worked hard to find something significant in her life, and once she did, her husband did not approve.
This, therefore, led to an awakening that she deserved something better. She found someone who accepted her for who she was.
