Denzil is very concerned about the state of his garden, fearing that he has let Philippa down by allowing it to die. He tries cheering it up by asking Charlotte to sing to it then making noise in it--all to no avail since winter has come. However he learns that, after winter, God has planned that spring will come--bringing new life to his garden; and he also discovers that although Jesus died for us, He too came back to life and can offer us eternal life--a truth we celebrate at Easter. This short story is followed by seven days of Bible readings, thoughts and prayers, based on the events of the final week of Jesus' life: the ride into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, Gethsemane, the trail and Jesus' death and resurrection, to help young children understand the true meaning of Easter.
