In 1932, the Collignon brothers-part of one of the most influential families in Jalisco, Mexico-traveled to Germany to complete their education. When they arrived in Berlin, the country was facing the imminent rise of Adolf Hitler. The brothers, along with a group of classmates with whom they played football, joined the Hitler Youth, seduced by the patriotic messages. Among the group were Franz and Hermann, two of the brothers' best friends. When the Collignon brothers returned to their native country before World War II began, Franz and Hermann remained behind. Separated by the war, an unexpected encounter brings them back together during the summer of 1943, but this time under conditions that trigger a series of events that test the limits of friendship, loyalty, and life itself. Based on real events surrounding WWII, this story reveals the value of friendship, the reward of good deeds, and the threat of populism.
