College teacher and wannabe writer Amy Gallagher is 29, so it's about time for a quarter-life crisis. She's just broken up with her boyfriend (good riddance), is dissatisfied with her career (what career?), and her little brother, the doctor, is getting married. And to break the camel's back, her lovely and righteous roommate is being published without breaking a sweat. Why does God make life so easy for everyone else? And how can she possibly handle a clinically-depressed student, a romantically-obsessed student, and a mother starting to date again after years and years of singleness?
But there are hidden joys and wonder in Amy's life as well. Her students are endearing and always entertaining, and that cute guy she met in the t-shirt shop just might be interested. And when tragedy strikes her roommate, she learns that the grass is not always greener elsewhere, and that God is paying attention to each of His children.
