Reading the Bible can often be a bit like trying to watch satellite TV without a decoder, with the story or teaching seeming to appear and disappear through a thick fog. We think we know whats going on but arent really sure; the characters can seem boring and dull and what on earth does it all have to do with us anyway?
In this new book in the Mettle series for 14 to 18-year-olds, Jonathan Brant has produced a decoder for young people as they read the Bible. Stressing the importance of reading the actual Bible as well as this Guide he explains how the people of the Bible lived, what they liked and disliked, what they were afraid of and what their concerns were, as well as when and why a particular book of the Bible was written. He also gives some very helpful guidelines as to how to approach Bible reading.
The book is written in language to which 14-18s will relate and includes cartoons and black and white illustrations.
