Students will learn to establish a clear voice in writing, create valid effective arguments, understand how authors make readers feel emotion, and communicate clearly through fiction narratives and business writing.
Topics addressed in this one-year course include:
Identifying and creating attitudes in narrative voice
Recognizing the points of an argument and writing a successful argument
Developing a narrative voice for fiction writing
Punctuating dialogue and creating speech patterns for characters
Organizing a description by seeing objects as groups of parts
Writing concise, insightful business letters.
A suggested schedule is provided, as well as worksheets that are three-hole punched and perforated, and the addition of a reading and literature component helps students look more deeply into the Bible and other books they select.
