Making Liturgy

Liturgy is a framework which enables people to worship together, to share gifts and ideas and to articulate a vision of God. Apart from the authorized liturgies of the churches, groups within the church can create simple liturgies as a way of giving voice to their concerns and longings. Here, a group of Catholic women share their experience of creating rituals which have arisen out of their needs and aspirations. Part one explores what makes good liturgy and offers a complete practical guide for creating your own liturgies, including advice on: how to choose music; how to use symbols; and how to plan liturgical celebration for small groups and large gatherings. Part two offers 20 ready-made liturgies, some for the seasons of the Christian year and others for special events and rites of passage.
