BOOK 1
The mystery was always a pleasure to him.
If anyone wanted to hear about him, the first thing they'd probably want to know was where he came from, what his childhood was like, who his parents were, why he was quiet and always kept to himself on campus, and why, despite his good looks, he always visited Mr. Wood three times a week. But all these were questions that Edward Chase preferred to keep their answers to himself.

BOOK 2
Grace settled in her seat quietly, one leg crossed over the other, simply observing him. They sat quietly for only about half a minute before he broke the ice, "You know, this is a warrantless arrest. Ever heard of the penal code 118.1 PC? You could face criminal charges for keeping me here against my will, and it is not helping that you are wasting my time."
She chuckled, "You're still worried about that? I don't think you know the kind of mess you got yourself in, Mr. Chase. Drops of Marilyn's blood were found in front of your house, plus a bloody glass shard that has your fingerprints all over it.

BOOK 3
Despite her innocence, Catie managed to drive him crazy by the equal longing with which she matched his fire. Her soft palms were pressed against his rock-hard chest, still warm by the fabric she must have pulled off at some point. When he got rid of his clothing, her eyes widened at the sight of his bulging, monstrous length. He couldn't wait to be inside her, ravaging her insides and exploring all her deep parts, but he knew he'd only end up hurting her if he did that, so he eased his tempo. However, he couldn't stop even if he had to; Hell, he couldn't even do it if she wanted him to. Moments later, he freed her breasts from her bra and cupped them in his hands, taking his time to suck on her pink nipples and pinch them slightly. Catie's moans rang in his ears, getting only louder when he slipped his hand under her skirt, and into her core.

BOOK 4
Edward was jolted back into reality when the auditorium erupted into a round of applause and someone on his left nudged him. He joined them, still dazed by the effects that his internal dilemma had left on him. Though settled in the first row amongst a sea of blue mortarboard caps, Edward was mentally absent from the large auditorium. With his state of mind in a jumbled frenzy, he continuously battled with his curiosity about the 'surprise' Arthur kept going on about, and most importantly, Catie's absence at his graduation ceremony.

BOOK 5
But Catie was going to do the opposite. If she ran into Edward, she was going to hold him close even if it meant breaking one or two bones in his body. Somewhere amongst the sea of heads that waddled on the sidewalks, there was Edward Chase, the man she had tried not to think about for a full year. The only man she was crazy about but had been crazy enough to sever his soul by tossing him out. The reflection of that fateful day sent chills down her spine and fear tugged at her heart as she wrapped herself in her arms.

BOOK 6
When he abruptly jerked away, Catie quivered shyly and reddened. Heat bloomed in her chest and sparks kindled inside her. The clump of statements she wanted to let out to Edward barraged her all at once, but when she opened her mouth to say something, he raised his hand and retreated.
"I called to do that one last time," Edward confessed, barely more than a whisper.
"And also, to tell you that I am getting married to Olivia in a week. Let's forget each other from now and act like we are strangers. There is no us anymore."
With that, Edward turned and started to walk away from her. Once again, Catie's eyes moistened with a threat of fresh tears and a single movement of her mouth elicited one word. "W... why?"
