Linguistic Descriptions of the Greek New Testament

The chapters in this volume provide descriptions of various important topics - such as linguistic theory, metaphor, rhetoric, orality and textuality - in Greek linguistics from a Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) perspective. This approach has been foundational to Stanley E. Porter's long and influential career in the field of New Testament Greek. Each chapter provides deep insights into Porter's understanding of SFL, based upon how he positions it in relation to other linguistic models or how he utilizes it to describe topics within Greek and New Testament studies.
