This book is a follow-up to Abraham: A journey through Lent. It once again focuses on a biblical character and concerns the power of story – drawing together the author’s story, the readers’ stories and the biblical story. This time the context is the development of resilience, especially following experiences of trauma.
Subjects addressed along the way include gender and sexual abuse, illness and stigma, the refugee crisis, modern-day slavery and intractable international conflicts. Throughout, however, the focus is on the telling of stories for the building of resilience. How can story-telling help Christians increase their own resilience, as well as the resilience of their communities of faith?
