Text can only go so far in providing a sense of the scope and sweep of historical events and movements. That is why this new resource will be so important to students of the Methodist movement. Methodism began in a particular place and time, and was shaped decisively by that social and physical context. As it spread out across the British Isles, North America, and eventually around the world, its beliefs and practices were inebitably shaped by those new contexts as well. This atlas tells the Methodist story, employing maps, pictures, charts, and other visual media to provide a compelling visual exploration of the rise and growth of the people called Methodists.
