To help stop the children’s constant bickering and bring back the Christmas spirit, the McDonald family agrees to resume an old tradition. With help from their neighbor “Gramps” (Corbin Bernsen), who is preparing for his first Christmas since the death of his wife, they build a manger for baby Jesus and create a soft bed by adding one straw at a time any time someone secretly does something nice for another family member.
