Today, we often throw around the word promise just as superficially as we might use the word hope and, in effect, these words have been watered down from their real meaning and weight. Gods promise is sure; as is the hope we can have in believing He will fulfill His promises. Faced with the challenge of false teaching, Peter seeks to encourage his friends to keep growing and developing in their love and knowledge of Jesus. He tells them to wait patiently and confidently -- assured that Gods promises would be fulfilled. Whatever our challenges are today, we too can find encouragement and hope to keep boldly on with our journey of faith.
