The period between the Old and New Testaments has been referred to as "the 400 silent years." This is true in the sense that then the authentic voice of prophecy was silent from Malachi until John. But certainly this period is not silent in the sense that we have no information about it. There are many voices to be heard, and the history of the period is well known.
