Gospel singer Troy Sneed brings his sweet high tenor to a series of urban contemporary ballads full of praise for the Lord on My Heart Says Yes. Sneed is a smooth singer, and he employs gentle backing in expressing the "Great & Marvelous" qualities of "Great Jehovah." He abruptly switches things up on the sixth track, "Tell the Lord You Love Him," coming up with a bouncy, traditional, gospel rave-up and delighting in the unexpectedness of it, saying he bets you didn't see this coming. From there, however, he cools things down again with four "unplugged" performances, which is to say, more soft music, this time with only piano accompaniment. It all makes for a sweet and modest album of praise & worship.
