In this book, Scottish linguist and anthologist Andrew Lang edited and framed the Arabian Nights tales for an English-speaking audience. Lang places the story within their original and horrifying framework: the stories told by a young wife to her prince husband every night to keep herself alive. The tales include the legendary escapades of Aladdin and Ali Baba, among others.
