Liesel von Schwarzkopf is a spoiled young socialite living in Germany. Pampered and loved by her parents and society, she is just beginning to know love, stepping out into a future that seems so bright, when WWII breaks out. Lost in the midst of her own unfolding story, however, Liesel scarcely notices the war, for it is merely a backdrop to her own happiness.
Eventually, it can no longer be ignored. As tensions build and conflict strips away the outer layers of those who are closest to her, will Liesel have the courage to choose her own way? In the shadow of Hitler's flag, Liesel must decide for herself what is right and true, and the decisions she makes will change her life forever.
