Dr. Nobles has been an educator and mentor for over 30 years. She began teaching in the Chicago Public School system and, for the past 23 years, has been a Professor at American River College in Sacramento in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. Writing is Dr. Nobles' favorite hobby. She writes both short stories and what she refers to as Rhymers. She defines her Rhymers as rhythmic repetition of similar sounds achieved by manipulating words. One of her Rhymers, the "Stationary Missionary" was published in the 2004, 2005, and 2006 editions of the Yearbook for the Women's Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church, a publication distributed to AME missionary societies throughout the United States and in four countries. For a number of years, she did not share her hobby with others but after insistence by one of her favorite writers, she started to write individualized Rhymers. Family and friends have encouraged her to share her hobby in a publication so others will be comforted, enriched, and ultimately blessed by the words she lovingly shares. Dr. Nobles' most recent publication was a Delphi study she conducted, "Social Networking: Indicators That Connect Instruction and Learning in Online Courses." In describing her study at a recent conference, she concluded her presentation with an unexpected short Rhymer that reviewed her methodology, data collection, and analysis. Unlike years gone by, she is no longer bashful about her gift of rhyme and now boldly shares her Rhymers with all... In Joy!
