Dr Weymouth's deservedly popular translation of the New Testament into everyday English was first published in 1902, and has been in print through numerous editions ever since, with millions of copies sold. It is in no sense a revision of previous versions, but an original translation from the Greek. Dr Weyland's aim has been to discover how the inspired writers themselves would have expressed their thoughts and described the events of the Gospels had they been writing in the 20th century. In doing so, he has succeeded in rendering the New Testament into dignified, modern English without ecclesiastical or doctrinal bias, making it accessible to Christians of all denominations.
