Hershel D. Duke was a charismatic bible teacher, active with the church choirs, and a member of the Trustee and Deacon Boards. He was also greatly involved with the Boy Scouts and the Westside Neighborhood Association of Lansing, Michigan.
Through the years he developed a deep desire to express his thoughts through writing poems, plays and songs. Knowing him inspired and encouraged others, that they could achieve their goals with the help of God.
Hershel, now deceased, was married for over 55 years to his best friend Mildred. This union produced 7 children.
